Telekom Slovenije has fully upgraded its mobile network with the NB-IoT (Narrowband Internet of Things) technology for effective mass communication of devices that generate low data traffic. NB-IoT opens up new opportunities for the development of innovative high value-added solutions for process optimization and resource management, ensuring a high level of security, the company said. At the same time, it represents a further milestone towards the development of 5G mobile networks.
Telekom Slovenije is already implementing the first IoT projects in the areas of smart cities, e-mobility and e-health. The operator already has over 98 percent population coverage with LTE/4G, while LTE-Advanced (4G+) covers more than 68 percent of the population.
