Global Internet of Things (IoT) systems specialist Kerlink Group has been selected as hardware and software provider for the IoT Scotland project, which will deliver a nationwide, low-power wide-area (LPWA) network across Scotland for IoT devices.
Kerlink will deliver up to 500 units of its Wirnet iBTS gateways to project leader Boston Networks over three years, along with its Wanesy Management Centre platform for remote real-time management of the gateways and overall network. Kerlink will also provide its Wanesy Geolocation technology for precise location of end-devices without GPS.
Boston Networks confirmed it had been selected to lead the GBP 6 million IoT Scotland project in August. The project includes investment from the public and private sector, with the Scottish Government investing GBP 2.7 million. The rest will come from Boston Networks, Scottish Enterprise and Highlands & Islands Enterprise.
