Operator Telia Lithuania plans to start the broadcast of IPTV content over its LTE network. The new technology will replace DVB-T services. The operator plans to stop using DVB-T services from 1 August. Its LTE network covers 99 percent of the country‘s area.
The operator will offer up to 90 TV-channels over LTE, most of them in HD. VAS-options will also be available. The operator will also offer new pricing.The lowest package with 22 TV-channels will be offered for a EUR 6 monthly subscription rate.
The operator’s smart TV subscriber base contains 215,000 households.
