American Tower has activated its LoRaWAN IoT network in 11 more Brazilian cities. Campinas, Santos, Jundiai, Sorocaba, Sao Jose dos Campos (all in the state of Sao Paulo), Goiania (Goias), Brasilia (Federal District), Curitiba (Parana), Fortaleza (Ceara), Recife (Pernambuco) and Porto Alegre (Rio Grande do Sul) are now being served.
The company claims it already has 400,000 devices connected to its infrastructure. It already covered the metropolitan regions of Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Belo Horizonte. The company’s goal for 2019 is to cover 80 cities with the LoRaWAN network, including all capitals, and reach 2 million devices connected.
